What Do You Know About Rapper Ernest B. Asante?
Ernest B. Asante is a Ghanaian rapper who started his music career in 2019, released his debut single, Denkyira Song same year under his independent imprint, Bfamily. Born on April 8, 1991 in Kyekyewere, a small town near Dunkwa-On-Offin in the Upper Denkyira East Municipal district in the Central Region of Ghana to the parents, Kwaku Asante(father) and Ama Frimpomaa(mother) where he started his primary and Junior High School, continued to complete his high school education at Boa-Amponsem Senior High School in Dunkwa-On-Offin, studied General Arts, 2011 batch, he is part of students who started the 4-year high school system in Ghana.
Early Life
Ernest was born and raised in Kyekyewere with his two elderly sisters and a younger brother, until he moved with his uncle during his primary school days in a different home, came back to his parents to finish Junior High School. He preferred Kumasi High; boys’ school in Kumasi but couldn’t get access of which the computerized school placing system in Ghana sent him to Boa-Amposem SHS.
Ernest was quiet shy but loved music and current affairs, he would argue and discuss whats’ trending with his friends and colleagues, knew almost every song and profile of top artist or celebrity. He stammered sometimes. And because of that, made him shy to speak and act in front of the public but intelligent and talented and could perform and deliver so well to entertain an audience. He used to perform during rap shows and parties in his hometown when he was 12. He was heavily influenced by the hip-hop culture, made him behave differently amongst his peers.
His love for music deepened in high school, making freestyles in dormitory with mates and performing other artists songs almost every Saturday at entertainment school gatherings.
After high school, Ernest started teaching in a private school in his hometown for a couple of months before he left to stay with his Auntie in La-Trade Fair, Accra to further his education, where he was selling bread. He enrolled himself in Cisco Networking Academy course and NIIT, completed with Diploma in Network Engineering in 2017, which took him so long to achieve with the intention of acquiring a degree in the university but couldn’t make it due to financial problems and the dead of his father along the way.
He developed interest in the computing space and decided to be an IT professional until he met his friend called Freddy G in 2019 who produced his first song.

The desire to be in the entertainment and art circles manifested way back in infancy. In his teens, Ernest wanted to be on the screens and audio devices to present TV or radio programs, although he could compose and perform his own songs but did not know how and where to go about it since there were no any recording studio or whatsoever in his hometown. He developed the skills of reading and writing skills; imitated some bloggers, TV and radio presenters like Richard Quest of Quest Means Business, Israel Laryea and Nana Aba Anamoah on TV3, Ameyaw Debrah of ameyawdebrah.com , Jay Foley on 4-syte TV, Benard Avle on Citi FM, Lexis Bill on Kapital Radio, Kojo Oppong Nkumah , DJ Black on Joy FM, Andy Dosty on Angel FM and some other media personalities who made him love the media profession.
Ernest’s inquisitive attitude made him become a blogger through the learning of creating web pages using platforms such as Opera Mini, sneakily using his father’s mobile phone. He then got to know about social media, started using Facebook and Twitter to express himself which made him popular amongst his friends.
His curiosity took him to another level where he developed keen interest in Information Technology. Ernest decided to further his education in IT to enable him build an online business. He saved some money in high school to buy himself, the latest MacBook Pro in 2012 when he moved to Accra to enroll himself in Cisco NetAcad program, meanwhile, his interest was in software and web development which he made an inquiry on but did not get the chance to learn because the program was been revamped which made Ernest switched to computer networking at AITI-KACE, Ridge-Accra. He then continued to do a diploma program in Network Engineering at NIIT(OpenLabs) as he was also teaching himself how to code. He started graphic designing which he was getting some money from until his laptop got broken. He build an online presence especially with WordPress, Google Blogger and others including social media platforms for his brand. But did not forget not-to-dump his musical talent with the ambition to becoming a musical artist. In fact Ernest purposely furthered his education just to gain knowledge to possibly start his own business. Can he ?

Asante started releasing songs in 2019 which include; Denkyira Song, Obrapa, eXcavator Rap, Zulu Babe and others like the remix to Meek Mills’ Heaven Or Hell and something I Get. He’s also feature some underground artists which some songs are yet to be released.
Bfamily Vibes
He is currently an independent artist who has been able to create and developing Bfamily Vibes; an imprint, connecting his fans and music. Bfamily as it is simply referred to, is more like a movement or clique but open to everybody who may be interested in the music he does and anything related. The vision of Bfamily Vibes is to grow to be one of the biggest entertainment and art organizations in the world. Every male member of Bfamily is called Bfamilyboy, and females are known as Bfamilygirls. It is now the official label under which his songs are being released. Ernest almost manages every aspect of his music career until he probably gets himself an artist manger and, or record label to work with.
